Explorations Cafe

The Explorations Cafe on Holland America Cruise ships is more than a coffee shop. It’s also an internet café and library. You can order coffee or tea that has Holland America’s exclusive Rotterdam 1873 coffee blend, grab a light bite, or read an international newspaper. There are also wireless hot spots available for your laptop.

The new space is staffed by members of the EXC Team, an onboard team that provides information about local culture and history. The team also offers recommendations for shore excursions. It’s an ideal place for travelers to learn about a port’s history and culture. In addition, the EXC Guides will help guests plan activities and suggest destinations.

Holland America Line has 11 ships that offer a wide variety of dining options. World-famous chefs create dishes exclusive to the line’s guests. Dining options range from traditional to gourmet. There are also specialty restaurants that serve international cuisine. Dining on the Holland America Line is a great way to spend your vacation!

Showroom at Sea

Guests will enjoy a modern take on a classic nightclub at Holland America Line’s Showroom at Sea. The production-oriented venue will feature the latest music from the top repertory companies and veteran Broadway performers. Executive vice president of marketing Richard Meadows said guests will be “wowed” by the entertainment. Live performances will include classical vocalists backed by a 14-piece orchestra, pop and rock musicians, and comedy acts.

Entertainment is another big draw on HAL cruises. During the day, passengers can enjoy enrichment programs such as themed trivia games and Digital Workshop seminars. Guests can also watch movies and other forms of entertainment in the main lounge. Shows and musical performances are held regularly on the ship, and passengers can enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail or sing-along in the evening.

Other highlights of Holland America cruises include a full-service internet café, a coffee bar, and a library. The cafes are equipped with comfy lounge chairs and music stations. The cafes also feature a magazine stand with current issues of popular magazines. In addition, passengers can enjoy the latest editions of newspapers. Cafe tables also feature New York Times crossword puzzles embedded in the glass.

Royal Dutch High Tea

Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea on the decks of the Holland America Line. There are several varieties to choose from: cupcake tea, Indonesian tea and the Royal Dutch High Tea. All three are served in the main dining room of the ship. Indulge in finger sandwiches, delicate pastries and petit desserts, and enjoy the extensive selection of fine teas available on board.

The Netherlands-American Steamship Company was founded in 1872, and its first cruise voyage was from Rotterdam to New York City. It was renamed Holland America in the early 1900s. Originally, the company transported immigrants from Europe to the United States, but soon expanded to include cruises. Today, it sails to destinations throughout the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Mexico, Canada, Europe, and South America.

The Royal Dutch High Tea is served on Holland America ships every afternoon between three and four pm. In addition to the standard afternoon tea, the company offers several themed tea experiences. For example, you can try the Indonesian Tea and Coffee Ceremony, featuring dishes such as coconut, sweet rice balls, and spring rolls. In addition, kids will love the Cupcake Tea. Guests can also enjoy the standard afternoon tea, which features sandwiches and scones.

Culinary Arts Center

The Culinary Arts Center on the Holland America Line offers culinary classes, demonstrations, and tastings to passengers of all ages. The Culinary Arts Center partners with the Food & Wine magazine to provide demonstrations from top chefs. These chefs include Mark Scarbrough and Bruce Weinstein.

Holland America Line’s ms Koningsdam boasts two new dining venues: the Terrace Grill and the Main Dining Room. Both feature a menu that features dishes from around the world and a grand wine tower. Guests can also enjoy snacks and drinks in these venues. While dining, they can also enjoy a live musical performance on the main stage of the ship.

Culinary events are becoming increasingly popular, which is why more cruise ships are offering cooking demonstrations and lectures. Originally, such events were only offered on small ships, but the trend has now spread to larger ships. Holland America’s Culinary Arts Center on the Koningsdam is specially built for this purpose. The facilities are fully equipped, including a show kitchen. In addition to cooking demonstrations, guests can also enjoy wine tastings and lectures by cookbook authors.

The Culinary Arts Center on the Koningsdam is an immersive experience that will delight any foodie. The Culinary Arts Center transforms into an elegant farm-to-table restaurant at night. Menus feature a main course, as well as five courses of smaller, healthy dishes. The menu also features vegetables and sprouts from the ship’s own garden.

Vaccinations required

Vaccinations required for Holland America Line cruises are changing. The cruise line has decided to remove the vaccine mandate on its cruises starting September 6, 2022. Vaccinations are no longer required on most sailings, but unvaccinated guests will need to provide proof of vaccinations three days prior to embarkation. The new rules do not apply to cruises that cross the Panama Canal, or trans-ocean voyages. Vaccinations are still required for travelers traveling to certain countries.

Holland America Line’s policy changes come amid a loosened international health policy. Earlier this year, Carnival Cruise Line loosened its COVID-19 protocols for passengers who are not fully vaccinated. The cruise line also eliminated the requirement for a physician’s note stating medical exemption.

While Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. does not require a pre-cruise vaccination, it still requires a certain level of proof before a person can board a ship. Passengers who are under age 12 are exempt from the pre-cruise vaccination requirement. Passengers must also have a valid passport to board the ship.

If you are traveling to a foreign country, be sure to consult your health care provider about specific vaccination requirements. Many destinations require special vaccinations. For example, in some parts of Greece, you must have received the COVID-19 vaccination before embarking the ship.

Shore excursions primarily adult-oriented

With a tradition of gracious service and sophisticated dining, the Holland America Line has a wide variety of onboard activities and shore excursions to please every palate. Its fleet of ships sails to ports on all seven continents. In addition to the extensive onboard facilities and amenities, Holland America offers spa services, fitness centers, demonstration kitchens, and Internet cafes.

Holland America has extensive partnerships with acclaimed brands, which extend its entertainment and enrichment offerings on board. For example, the Mainstage offers state-of-the-art theater technology and exclusive live performances. In addition, clients can participate in fun, educational workshops led by BBC Earth, Oprano magazine, Microsoft Windows, and American Test Kitchen.
